Froome Looking Forward to Tour de France

Chris Froome, the British Cycling Podium Programme rider believes that he is hitting top form exactly at the right time of the year, just as the main ‘highlight’ of the road racing calendar the Tour de France is about to hit the roads. Froome was not able to take part in the Paris – Nice in April due to a chest infection that he contracted but has recovered and since then, has played a major role in Bradley Wiggins and Geraint Thomas successes, his team mate at Team Sky’s victories at both the Criterium du Dauphine and the Tour de Romandie.

Speaking to journalists, Froome stated that the last few months for him had been nothing short of eventful and added that he is extremely pleased to have come out of it in flying colors. He also added that he is extremely satisfied with the training that he has undergone over the last couple of months and is hopeful of hitting his absolute best at the Tour de France.

Chris Froome went on to add that at the moment, everything that he has been doing has been pointing him forwards and added that he is extremely happy that he has been given the chance to be a part of such a strong lineup at Team Sky, who boats of the likes of Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish. Froome further added that the Tour de France will definitely be the highlight for him, in spite of the Olympic Games in London being just around the corner.

He made it clear that if one can do well there, it is because he deserves it and not because someone or the other is missing and Chris Froome has targeted a podium finish at this year’s event, which will certainly give him confidence for the next edition of the Grand Tour.
