Froome And Contador About To Come Face To Face

Criterium Du Dauphine is a cycling race held annually in France (Dauphine Region). It is held in around the 1st half of the month of June. Cyclist participate in this race as it is a lead-up event to one of the Grand Tours of cycling- Tour de France which is held in July every year. This year’s Criterium Du Dauphine is going to be held from June 2nd to June 9th. It is going to have a total of eight stages covering a distance of about 1,117 kilometers. Criterium Du Dauphine and cycling fans all around the world are going to witness the clash of two star cyclists namely Chris Froome (Team Sky) and Alberto Contador (Team Saxo-Tinkoff).

Chris Froome is going to lead Team Sky at the Tour de France this year in July. He has been one of the top performers of Team Sky and has come second at the Tour de France in 2012. Froome has been doing really well this cycling season and has full support of his cycling team. He has won the Corsica and Tour of Oman this cycling season. He came second at Tirreno-Adriatico which was won by Vincenzo Nibali. So his performance has been very promising and he has given tough competition to Alberto Contador.

On the other hand, Alberto has been facing tough challenges from both Froome and Vincenzo Nibali. At Tour de San Luis, he has just won a stage event. He came second to Froome at the Tour of Oman and stood third at the Tirreno-Adriatico. Alberto has won Tour de France in the year 2007 and 2009. It seems both Contador and Froome are going to come face to face at the Criterium Du Dauphine before challenging each other at Tour de France. Bradley Wiggins was the winner of Criterium Du Dauphine in 2012 before he won Tour de France in the same year.
