Chris Froome Dreams of Leading Team Sky

Professional road racing cyclist, Chris Froome, nicknamed Froome Dog, came second last year in the Tour de France. This year, things look promising for him as he said that he will be happy to lead the UCI ProTeam Team Sky.

The Tour de France is all set to kickoff this year on 29th of June to July 21st and the cyclists will be covering a distance of 3,479 kilometers, to be covered with a total of 21 stages.

The year 2012 did not start off so well for Chris Froome. In the early months of 2012, he was taken ill again because his Schistosomiasis had returned. He also had an accident which had been a hindrance for a while but he bounced back into action and was a part of Brad Wiggin’s UCI ProTeam Team Sky in the Tour de France of 2012. He was Wiggin’s right hand man throughout and he was the runner up while Wiggin’s was the winner that time. In 2012, Froome also won an Olympic bronze medal. But his glory was kind of shadowed as Brad Wiggin had won the gold medal at the Olympics that year and Chris didn’t get much recognition and fame. 2012 was a shining year for Chris Froome, in spite of his on and off fight with Schistosomiasis.

However, now with the teams forming up for the Tour de France 2013, Dave Brailsford, the principal of the UCI ProTeam Team Sky is now facing a problem because Chris Froome said that he wants to lead the Team Sky in the Tour de France this time and Brad Wiggin has requested the same desire.

The decision has not been made yet about who will be leading the team but the Kenyan-born Briton, Chris Froome will definitely be a part of the team. As of now, both Brad Wiggin and Chris Froome are being considered for the spot and both of them are in the team, as of now.
