“Tour de France” Documentary to be shown Worldwide

Jean-Christophe Rose’s documentary “Tour de France” is soon to be hitting the market. It is divided into two parts and celebrates the 100 years history of Tour de France. NBC is among the famous channels which have bought its broadcasting rights. It is produced by La Campagnie des Phares et Balises.

ITV of U.K along with RDS (Canada), RTBF (Belgium), TV2 (Norway), Japan’s NHK and J Sport and AB of France also took the rights of showing it. The documentary contains the milestones that Tour de France has achieved since date. It also has the interviews of many famous riders along with the critics.

When you are talking about Tour de France then you cannot escape the controversies that made this grand race of cycling even more popular. The documentary focused on some of the epic controversies that have been talked about even today! The overall budget of this documentary is $1.6 million approx and it has been made by France 2 in association with Amaury Sport Organization, which is also the organizer of the event.

The President of the International Development of Phrases et Balises, Mr. Yasmine Benkiran, was super excited while talking about this documentary. He said that the Tour de France had always been a very high standard event. It is watched almost all over the world. He also gave an example of its popularity when he said that the 2009 de France was broadcasted in 170 nations.

The director, Rose, holds a very high position in the field of documentaries. His documentary, “Maradona: The Golden Kid” had been nominated for the European Film Award. This was a tribute to the Argentine football God Diego Armando Maradona. It is expected that his new documentary on Tour de France will also be highly appreciated.
