Froome All-Set For 2014 Tests

Great success has often led to a tremendous mis-balance in life for many riders in the past- however, Sky coach Tim Kerrison is of  the firm belief that the 2013 Tour France champion Chris Froome is far from any mishaps given his overwhelming success last year. Much to the pleasure of Froome’s fans, his coach has declared him all-set to handle every pressure usual with the coveted yellow jersey and that the leading rider is totally ready for his 2014 tests.

After watching Evans (Cadel) & Wiggins (Bradley) struggling with Tour success, Team Sky is hopeful to learn lessons on proper management of the burden inevitable with the achievement of the very prestigious yellow jersey.

“This year, post winning on Tour France is too hard” Kerrison told Single Track Safari. “ Froome is just on the top – he has seen firsthand that how tough the success was for Wiggins. It isn’t the same yet there are still ample distractions waiting for him.”

Kerrison stressed that Sky is working close-up with the 2013 Tour France champion to ensure a fairly seamless transition which is common with the very stature of being defending Tour France champion.

Froome is taking his training at South Africa, to stay away from the pressure of spotlight that might otherwise distract him from coming up with a similar successful season this year as well. This has definitely helped Chris to maintain a markedly contract profile from that of Wiggins, when the latter was the defending champion last year.

“Winning Tour France alters your life”, noted Kerrison. “Bradley wasn’t only the Tour France champion in 2012 but also the gold medalist at Olympics time trial that altogether pushed him into the zone that is common when you are a celeb”. Wiggins was unable to continue with a successful year in 2013- he pulled himself out of Giro & even missed out on Tour France.
