  1. lol South Africans Trying To Claim Him lol Went To School There at 14 years
old LMAO.. Always Carried a British Passport, Comes From An English family
has Said in the Past He Has Always Felt British lol there’s Stupid People
    On the Internet!!

  2. juding by your use of words, your from the US. ..I would assume their using
something simlar to the US athletic team going to the olympics this year. 😉

  3. The whole strategy is built around Wiggins so why would they change it
now… in 2013 they should give him the nod as leader hes a great great
rider but 2012 is Wiggins year. Team Sky all the way

  4. born in Kenya, and was brought up in South Africa. He went to school in
Johannesburg. Without this Saffa it seems Wiggins would be nothing

  5. well if you care looking, those comments were nearly a year ago. i really
don’t care about it particularly when your points are based on
presumptions. ‘if you were able to talk to him’, well you never will and
will never know. so who cares?

  6. well then why in your previous comments did you claim so confidently that
he’s British? you don’t know so shut up. Froome is racing under a Brit
license because it has helped him with his career and get on Team Sky. If
we were able to talk him personally about it I’m willing to bet he’d say
that he feels culturally South African.

  7. it depends on the person and how he is acculturated. Froome was born and
raised in Africa… so he has that upbringing and influence so I’m sure
he’s feels that he is South African. He races under a Brit license because
it gives him more opportunity, period. Haussler is another example… born
to German parents in Australia. he first raced as a German to start his
career but switched to racing under an Aussie license because he feels he’s
Australian because that’s where he was raised.

  8. well at the end of the day only froome himself can choose his nationality.
obviously for a number of reasons he has chosen to be british, just like
‘haussler’ has chosen to be australian. period. no point talking about it.

  9. Kenyan-born, went to boarding school in South Africa at 14-years old,
represented Kenya at Commonwealth games but switched to Britain for funding
and sponsorship reasons. I’d say Kenyan more than British or South African.

  10. He needs to leave SKY Pro Cycling for next year. He needs to be the team
leader. He should have gotten the OK to go after Valverde @ Peyragudes
today. There was no reason Froome should not have gone for the win.

  11. If he leaves Sky what exactly would he achieve? Sky team was not built for
short term success -Wiggins has stated more than once that Froome will get
his backing and support in the future – No other team can live with these
current sky riders – Its a team sport not an individual sport as it was
years ago – Take a look at liquigas , they tried to unsettle sky , set an
amazing pace but look who blew up- Nibali!! Bmc, no help for Cadel when it
mattered (though he was under par this year)-

  12. British father and grandparents and a British passport holder, born in
Kenya raised in South Africa. So could have decided to represent any one of
the three countries. Which he chooses indicates practicalities and
opportunityies available to him as well as his own sense of national
    identity.

  13. Yes, born in Kenya. So if anything he is Kenyian right? Besides, he had a
British father and has a British passport, and wants to race for Britain.
He is definately not South African ‘because he lived there’. I grew up in
Italy but that doesn’t make me Italian.

  14. He wasn’t brought up in South Africa. He was sent to boarding school there,
at 14 years old. He’s Kenyan.

  15. Sup cheater. So tell us what type of cheats you and your buddy Bradley use
    at the Tour de France.
